______Stepdad, an eletro-pop band hailing from Michigan, produce fun and amusing tracks that always incite dancing. Their first released EP, Ordinaire, generates a silly, wild, and eccentric atmosphere. Today’s song of the day, “My Leather, My Fur, My Nails,” originates from said EP.
______I remember vividly the first time I heard Stepdad. In 2011, on my way to Athfest, a friend turned on their mix for our trip, and out came a crazy world of synth and electro-pop awesomeness.  What was playing? Just a little song called “My Leather, My Fur, My Nails.” The introduction excited me with its zany electronic beats, but then came the lyrics and vocals.  While bopping my head, I suddenly began to listen to what was actually being said: “She wants a coat made of my leather, and my fur, and my nails.” What did this mean? Did it matter at all?     ______No. All that mattered was that I wanted to be swaying back and forth to this synth pop gem.
After this first listen, I was hooked. Ever since, this song has been my go-to dance tune. Ever since I learned that Stepdad would be gracing the Georgia Theatre’s stage along with Rubblebucket and Reptar, I have been too excited. Stepdad’s set will be entertaining, rousing, and just plain fun. Come out if you’re ready to dance until the wee hours!
