ATHENS, Ga — It’s getting closer and closer.

The Georgia Bulldogs have finished up their first week of fall camp, and we are now just 23 days away. Bottom line, there are only three Saturday’s left without SEC football.

With that being said, I have had the opportunity to spend some time the last week attending practices and talking with players and coaches following practice to get their reaction from what they’ve seen.

The Bulldogs opened up fall camp last Thursday with their first practice of the fall, and following the first week, here’s what I’ve learned.

Blog: Why the defense will be better in 2011

While the offense has garnered most of the headlines heading into the 2011 season, the defense will decide the fate of the 2011 season and will show vast improvement.

The reason? Kwame Geathers and John Jenkins.

The 3-4 defense and 4-3 defense require different players in the front seven, and in 2010 Georgia didn’t have the right players in place, particularly at nose tackle.

That changes in 2011 when former nose tackle DeAngelo moves over to his more natural position of defensive end for his senior season.

Blog: Which game is bigger for Georgia, Boise State or South Carolina

Posted by: Mike Reiter
Aug 10 2011 12:00 pm

The Georgia Bulldogs open up the 2011 season with the toughest two-game stretch in the nation. The opener is technically considered a neutral site game against Boise State in the Georgia Dome, but it will be as close to a home game there is. The following week the Bulldogs open up the SEC schedule playing host to South Carolina in Athens, Ga.

Both teams figure to be in the top 10-15 in the preseason polls and will be a very tough test. With that being said, which game, Boise State or South Carolina, is bigger for the Georgia Bulldogs?

It’s football season, and today I continue a series where I preview the Georgia Bulldogs position by position. Today’s section focuses on the wide receivers.

One of the major question marks heading into the 2011 season for Georgia is the wide receiver position as the Bulldogs lose their top two receivers from a year ago, A.J. Green and Kris Durham.
