Welcome to the opening coverage of Georgia baseball today by WUOG sports.  Today’s game features #5 Florida State  (9-1) and the Georgia Bulldogs (3-7).  Sunday’s game is the rubber match between well played games on Friday, Florida St. taking the win 6-5 and Saturday, a pitching duel, but the Diamond Dogs took the victory 2-1.  Florida St. one of the best teams in the country and if not the best in the ACC appear to have a large advantage over the Dogs on paper.

Top of 1st Inning

Gullickson digs himself a hole with the first batter with an opening walk.  Lead off walks are always bad news in baseball.  The pitcher is keeping the runner close at first, but the crowd is begging to get restless. Johnson lifts a ball to right center, but Peter Verdin has no problems hauling in the can of corn. So after a leadoff walk, Gullickson gets out of the 1st with a strikeout looking on Mike McGee and gets James Ramsey to fly out. FSU 0 UGA 0
