Thornton is undoubtley the best player coming out of our home state and is listed by Rivals as the No.121 player in the nation.  The 6 foot 7 215 pound forward will team up with current Bulldog stand outs Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie. This is a huge recurit for Coach Mark Fox as he establishes himself in the SEC. Thornton is a huge addition and will help this team tremendously in the post. The 09-10 team Georgia team was 10th in the SEC in points per game and 7th in rebounds per game Thornton averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds at Westlake High School in Atlanta.

Originally Thornton signed with Clemson but Bulldog fans are sure glad he changed his mind. Thornton will add power and the ability to score. Which is something the Bulldogs lacked last season as they went 14-17 overall,  5-11 in the SEC and were unable to win on the road. For those who doubted him, Mark Fox is proving he can recurit in the talented state of Georgia. Now it’s time to prove you can win.
