If you needed another reminder that Georgia Football is still over six months away, Mother nature gave you proof. A snow storm hit the Classic City on Friday and gave College Football’s most majestic palace a thick white blanket of snow. That’s right, the place that has been accustomed to blackouts in recent memory had a natural white out. The University closed at 3:30 PM, but that didn’t stop students and fans from going to see how Sanford Stadium looks with the white coat. Am I the only one that wants Georgia to play a game in the snow? Let’s get Damon Evans to schedule a rematch with Florida before the snow melts! Enjoy the pictures Dawgnation. (more…)
Georgia pulled off another SEC win inside Stegeman Coliseum Saturday night. They held the SEC’s leading scorer, Devan Downey, to only 18 points. More importantly, Georgia re-discovered its killer instinct coming back from a 10-point second-half deficit to down the Gamecocks 66-61. (more…)
19:42- Botched lay-up attempt almost had this place go into overdrive. Leslie goes to the line on the foul and makes both.
19:22- Raley Ross for three and Carolina leads again.
19:11- Leslie takes off from the foul-line and finishes with a one handed rim rocker. I am in shock. Best dunk I’ve ever seen. Ever.
18:11- Its worth mentioning that Lelie’s dunk was straight nasty. Top play material.
17:44- Georgia back in the 3-2 matchup zone. Obviously Coach Fox reads the blog.
17:14- Georgia is now 0 for 2 on ally-oops.
16:40- Jackson scored on a zone so ugly I have no clue what it was. Georgia’s defensive awareness really comes and goes.
15:39- Georgia trails headed into the first break of the second half. 38-37 Carolina.
15:39- Please God, don’t put me on kiss cam. The guy next to me. Not a looker.
15:30- Carolina in a zone press. Georgia with no trouble.
15:03- Georgia in the man-to-man. Downey is running circles around McPhee. He’s fouled on the way up and will shoot two.
Downey makes 1 of 2 and Carolina leads by 3.
14:21- Good ball rotation by the Dogs and Thompkins gets a bucket inside.
13:50- Leslie nails a wide open jumper for 2. Georgia is finding a way to punish that SC zone.
13:30- No focus in transition leads to an easy three for Raley-Ross.
12:50- Great cut by Raley-Ross, the Dawgs had no response for what he just did down the baseline. If Carolina is going to get those uncontested cuts at the basket I might as well just go home.
12:42- Side note: Former Hawks GM Billy Knight is here. He’s probably salivating over Thompkins, we all know how much he loves 6′9″ swingmen. Imagine how good Atlanta would be if they had Deron Williams or Chris Paul running the point.
12:07- Price to the line for two shots. He makes 1 of 2, Georgia still trails by 3.
11:34- Jackson with another easy bucket inside. Georgia is surrendering too much in the paint.
11:07- Georgia calls the time out trailing by 7. Still no Albert Jackson, not that anyone noticed.
10:30- Carolina back in the 3- 2. We suck against their zone.
10:13- Georgia into the triangle and two. Lets see what they do.
10:13- Official time out. That’s what they did. 49-42 Carolina.
9:50- McPhee just got packed. Big time. His shot selection is atrocious.
9:39- Downey bring it up, Georgia back in the 3-2.
9:10 Downey has 13 points after another improbable three pointer.
8:40- So McPhee will take the contested shot but passes on the wide-open three. I’m still scratching my head.
8:35- Bout time. McPhee drains a three from out in no-man’s land. Georgia still down 7, but showing some life.
7:56- Georgia heads into the break down 52-45. Cue the t-shirt cannon.
7:40- The guy in the Rocky outfit just did his schtick. Lames.
7:24- Another Bulldog turnover. And South Carolina will go the other way looking to put nails in the coffin.
6:57- Ware’s three won’t go. Price reigns in the loose-ball rebound and proceeds to throw it out of bounds.
6:38- Leslie with a kicked ball violation and Carolina will reset. Georgia’s zone is being abused.
5:30- After a Downey drive to the bucket. Price pounds one inside.
4:51- Trey Thompkins with a HUGE three to put Georgia within 4.
4:42- Carolina will call the timeout. Downey makes a big big big three out of the time out.
4:11- Ware with a THREEEEEEEEE. Georgia gets the points back.
3:50- For some unknown reason, McPhee is handling the right post on the zone .
3:02- Foul on Leslie. We head into the break with Georgia down 4.
2:58- Downey has 18. Georgia comes out of the break in the zone.
2:09- Georgia has scored on four straight trips now. McPhee’s three is put back by Price. And 1.
2:09- He makes it. Georgia trails by 1.
1:47- Missed three from Raley- Ross the rebound goes out of bounds. Carolina ball.
1:39- Douney holds the ball out towards mid court. Georgia still stifling in the zone.
1:19- Downey misses the three. Drives the floor and goes to Price underneath. He’s fouled and will go to the line.
1:09- Price makes the first. AND the second. That’s 16 tonight. Georgia leads 60-59 on the back of a season high from Jeremy Price. No body in this building seems to be missing Albert Jackson.
1:04- Timeout Carolina. Georgia up 1.
:48- Raley-Ross misses the three. Trey reigns it in. Georgia will take a time out and draw the play up.
:34- Leslie makes both on a 1 and 1. Georgia is up 3. Biggest lead of the night I do believe.
:21.4- Carolina time-out. I don’t feel safe with a 3 point lead.
:20 Raley-Ross airballs a 3. Carolina will start fouling. Trey has a chance to ice it with :14 left.
:14- Thompkins makes them both. This one is over folks.
:10- Downey’s three can’t answer. Georgia with the rebound.
:00- That’s game folks. More from post game in a bit.

Its rematch time inside Stegeman Coliseum today at the Georgia Bulldogs take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. Georgia lost its last matchup against South Carolina 77-78 in Columbia.
Georgia hopes that home court advantage can help guide them over the 14-9 Gamecocks. They also hope that they don’t get burned by Devan Downey once again. The Carolina point guard leads the SEC in scoring with 23 points per game. For those of you still snowed in, stay tuned and check out the live blog of the game coming up at 4pm. (more…)
