LSU 8, UGA 1. 10:50: Lyle Allen comes in for Michael Demperio. Allen grounds out to first. Jordan Nicholson is the new LSU pitcher. Jonathan Taylor hits a single down centerfield for his first hit of the game. Matt Cerione is out at first. Rich Poythress hits an RBI single down left field as Taylor scores. Bryce Massanari hits a two run homer with 2 strikes on the count. Joey Lewis hits a double as the LSU outfielder fails to make the game’s final out. Chase Davidson strikes out to end the game.

LSU 8, UGA 1: 10:02: Sean Ochinko lines out to center field for the first out of the inning. Micah Gibbs gets an infield single when he hits a ground ball that bounces off of first base.
Cecil Tanner (RHP), a freshman from Waycross, replaces Esmonde. Tanner strikes out the first batter he faces, DJ LeMahieu. Leon Landry then walks. Mikie Mahtook is then hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded, Tanner gets Tyler Hanover to ground out to third base. We head into the bottom of the ninth.

LSU 8, UGA 0. 9:50: Bryce Massanari hits a one run homer over the left field trees for the Bulldogs first run of the game. Joey Lewis strikes out. Fly out to left for Chase Davidson. Colby hits a single towards right field. Levi Hyams hits a ball towards 2nd for the out at first.

LSU 8, UGA 0. 9:44: Derek Helenihi comes in for LSU, taking Jared Mitchell’s spot in the batting order. Esmonde gets Helenihi to ground out to second base for the first out of the inning. Ryan Schimpf then grounds out to Esmonde. Blake Dean then hits a ground ball to second base. The throw to first base gets by UGA’s Poythress and Dean advances to second but runs past the base and is tagged out for the third out.

LSU 8, UGA 0. 9:38: Louis Coleman comes in to relieve Anthony Ranaudo. John Taylor grounds out to Coleman, and is now 0-4 tonight. Matt Cerione strikes out. Rich Potythress strikes out on a 1-3 count.

LSU 5, UGA 0. 9:34: Justin Earls (LHP), a junior from Lawrenceville, comes in for Holder. He walks Ryan Schimpf to start the inning. Blake Dean then doubles down the right field line. Schimpf stops at third base.
Will Harvil (RHP), a senior from Smyrna, comes in for Earls. Sean Ochinko singles into left field. Both runners score. Harvil then walks Micah Gibbs. DJ Lamahieu grounds into a fielder’s choice, as UGA second baseman Demperio throws to shortstop Hyams (covering second) for the out. Ochinko moves to third for the Tigers. Leon Landry then grounds out to first base, but Ochinko comes home to make the score 8-0. Mike Mahtook then walks.
Steve Esmonde (RHP), a junior from Lilburn, replaces Harvil. He gets Tyler Hanover to line out to center field, where Cerione makes a diving catch for the third out.

LSU 5, UGA 0: 9:12: Chase Davidson strikes out for the first time in the game. Colby May is walked for a second time. Levi Hyams swings and misses on a 1-3 count, but May advances to 2nd base. Michael Demperio strikes out to end the 6th inning. LSU’s Anthony Ranaudo has 10 strikeouts to 5 walks through six innings.

LSU 5, UGA 0: 9:01: Leon Landry grounds out to UGA second baseman Michael Demperio for the first out of the sixth inning. Mike Mahtook gets an infield single, then steals second base. Holder then strikes out Tyler Hanover. Jared Mitchell grounds out to the shortstop, and Rich Poythress throws home in time to get Mahtook to complete the 6-3-2 double play to end the inning.

LSU 5, UGA. 0 8:53: Matt Cerione walked on a 4-1 count. Rich Poythress strikes out for the 2nd time tonight. Cerione is picked off running to 2nd base for out number two. Bryce Massanari singles to left. A wild pitch advances him to 2nd. Joey Lewis grounds out to the shortstop for the final out of the 5th.

LSU 5, UGA. 0 8:42: Blake Dean lines out to UGA right fielder Chase Davidson. Sean Ochinko lines another one to right. Davidson catches this one as well before hitting the wall. Micah Gibbs hits yet another line drive to the outfield. This one is caught by Cerione in center field for the third out.

LSU 5, UGA 0. 8:35

Chase Davidson is walked to start the bottom of the 4th inning. Davidson steals second base. Colby May is walked on a full count. Levi Hyams bunts to advance Davidson and May to 2nd and 3rd base. Michael Demperio is out after failing to drive in a run. Jonathan Taylor is up for his 3rd plate appearance and hits a line drive to left field for out number three.

LSU 5, UGA 0. 8:22: Holder gets Leon Landry to strike out swinging for the first out of the inning. Mike Mahtook then singles up the middle, as the ball is just out of the reach of a diving Levi Hyams. Holder then strikes out Tyler Hanover, but Mahtook steals second base and advances to third on an errant throw by Massanari. Jared Mitchell reaches base for LSU with a walk. Holder then gets Ryan Schimpf to fly out to UGA centerfielder Matt Cerione to get out of the inning.

LSU 5, UGA 0. 8:13: Matt Cerione singles to right field. Rick Poythress is retired for the inning’s first out. Bryce Massanari grounds out near first, but advances Cerione to 2nd. This is the first time to Bulldogs have advanced a runner tonight.  Joey Lewis strikes out to end the inning.

LSU 1, UGA 0. 8:02: Tyler Hanover (2B) starts the inning off for LSU with a double down the left field line. Jared Mitchell reaches base on an error when UGA shortstop Levi Hyams drops a flyball in shallow center field. Ryan Schimpf then hits a three-run homer to right field. Blake Dean grounds out to UGA third baseman Colby May. Sean Ochinko blasts a solo homer to left field for the Tigers, making the score 5-0. Holder then hits Micah Gibbs with a pitch. During D.J. LeMahieu’s at bat, Gibbs is thrown out while trying to steal second base by UGA catcher Bryce Massanari. Holder then strikes out LeMahieu to retire the side.

LSU 1, UGA 0. 7:54: Chase Davidson (rF) out at first after being thrown out by Vaunado. Colby May (3B) singles after DJ Lemahieu fails to make the catch. LSU manager Paul Mianieri gets in to an argument with the umpire at 2nd base.  A wild pitch from Vaunado advances May to 2nd base. Levi Hyams hits it to left field and the ball is caught by Jared Mitchell. Michael Demperio is walked. Jonathen Taylor flies out towards third for the 3rd out and is 0-2 thus far.

LSU 1, UGA 0. 7:39: Micah Gibbs (C) scores the first run of the game, as he leads off the second inning with a solo homerun to center for the Tigers. Holder then forces DJ LeMahieu (SS) to ground out to shortstop Levi Hyams, but then walks Leon Landry (CF). Holder then gets out of the inning by forcing Mikie Mahtook (RF) into a 6-3 double play.

Anthony Raunado (RHP) a sophomore from Jackson, New Jersey starts tonight for the Bayou Bengals. John Tyler (lF)strikes out on a 3-2 count. Matt Cerione (cF) gets a single on a close call to first. Rich Poythress is hit by a pitch. Raunado gets Bryce Massanari (C) on three strikes for the 2nd out of the inning.  (dH) Joey Lewis strikes out on a 1-3 count. Thats three strike outs for Anthony Raunado (RHP) this inning.

LSU 0, UGA 0. 7:17: Trevor Holder (RHP), a senior from Birmingham, Alabama, starts the game for the Dawgs. He walks LSU’s Jared Mitchell (LF) to start the game. He then gets Ryan Schimpf (2B) to ground out, as Mitchell moves up to second base. Blake Dean (DH) then flies out to UGA 1st baseman Rich Poythress. Holder then strikes out Sean Ochinko (1B) to retire the side.
