VIDEO OF THE DAY: Metz- Wet Blanket
Recent Subpop record signees Metz are an intense Canadian noise punk band. Following the release of their first single “Headache,” “Wet Blanket” is the second single from of their debut self-titled album. The band gives nods to 90’s grunge rock by way of fuzzy vocals, screeching guitars, and numerous comparisons to Nirvana. The video (probably my favorite music video since Fucked Up: Queen of Hearts) pieces together a story about a melancholy teenage girl by way of GIF-like images. The video successfully illustrates the teen’s numbness through its creative images and imagery.
