LOCAL SONG OF THE DAY: Faun and a Pan Flute – “Sunset Dolphin Boat Ride ‘98”

“Sunset Dolphin Boat Ride ‘98”, the new single by Faun and a Pan Flute (who were recently awarded Atlanta’s Best Experimental Act of 2012 by Creative Loafing), is psychedelic and fun. It’s a revery. The swirling syncopation is filled with Suzanne Baker’s voice, here legato. It makes you think of friends and summer. Set sail! Cheers! Baker sang for the local, now defunct surf punk band Street Violence, whose shows were always a blast. Faun and a Pan Flute’s music is more substantial than that project, but no less energized.
