Bubbly Mommy Gun plays live in the WUOG lobby!

“Well, the band calls itself “noisy pop,” but this isn’t popular music in any conventional sense of the word. At all. Bubbly Mommy Gun features haunting found sounds swirled into a gentle cacophony.” - Michelle Gilzenrat, Flagpole.com

Trapper’s Cabin with MTM – (9/22/2009)

About Trapper’s Cabin: He’s the crazy old man in the mountains. I’ve heard the stories – he’s alive up there still. One man alone in the mountains of North Georgia, his multiple personalities and voices take over to create beautiful rivers of sound which flow through one ear and proceed to the deep deep valleys of your mind – continuing out your other ear and on to the next lucky contestant!

About MTM: MTM began working on music in early November of 2008 after Xak placed an ad looking for a new band. The ad was answered by Jordan Ososki who then contacted Joel Nettesheim, a friend and partner musician over the years. MTM got together for their first jam session in january of 2009 after months of talking back and forth between Jordan and Xak, and several scheduling issues that delayed the process. The musical influences range from various artist and musicians anywhere from the early 1960’s to the late 1990’s. MTM is all about writing good music and playing shows that give the crowd no choice but to have a good time. MTM practices twice a week to keep the music tight and the creative juices flowing to constantly create new music that everyone can enjoy.

“‘Catchy’” – For a band, is it the descriptor of doom, or actually a compliment? Does it mean the song writing is concise and interesting, or simply derivative and too familiar? Well, in any event, with Silent and Listen, they hope you won’t care.”

Aman Amun plays live in the WUOG lobby (again!)

“Aman Amun, might be something of a prodigy. Although I haven’t seen his work yet,  the glow in his eyes when he talks about his musical endeavors is invigorating, and his elaborate plans have impressed me more than any press release that’s come across my desk.” – Flagpole

Leading Edge – (9/1/2009)

Leading Edge plays live in the WUOG lobby. (Yeah, they’re pretty edgy)

“Leading Edge’s main goal is to use music as a catalyst for provoking emotion. The bands ability to put on not only an aural, but visually exciting performance allows the band to achieve what they call “a completely entertaining experience.” Their influences range from rock, pop, funk, and psychedelic. The quartet consists of Matt Daniel, Seth Brown, David Beeco, and Eric Thompson. The bands sound has been referred to as very musical, as all of the members have been playing and performing since the ages of ten, but the band has not always existed as the quartet. In 2005 in the small town of Social Circle, Georgia-Matt, David, and Seth formed the band named Mudra. They played various shows in the Social Circle, Athens, and surrounding areas in Georgia. In Spring of 2008, Eric Thompson joined the band Mudra, and later decided to call themselves “Leading Edge”. Music is a means to move people whether it be emotionally or physically. We are in it, just to watch you have a great time. ” – Flagpole.com
