If You See Me, Say Yes is Jen Wasner’s, from the band Wye Oak, second bedroom album. This album has the bright, catchy, and repetitive (lyrics and sometimes instrumental) acoustic feel of a pop song with some unique aspects in it. Her voice throughout helps you get lost in the music because of her airy tone, repetition of lyrics, and consistency of range. Each song sounds distinctly different, for example “Apparition” contrasts because of its circular and ethereal sound. Some tracks, like “Semaphore”, are really catchy but the sound hides the meaning of the lyrics. Throughout the instrumental differentiates a lot which is what makes these songs sound so diverse and edgy.
