Bay area rapper Antwon (who looks a lot like Dan Deacon) gained some attention early last year with his awesome “Helicopter” single off the My Westside Horizon mixtape. As we enter 2013 Antwon blesses us with a track from the Horizon sessions produced by cloud-rap stalwarts Friendzone. It’s a sparse and beautiful piano laced instrumental that’s reminiscent of the prettiest Coldplay song you can think of only now instead of Chris Martin’s pained croons we have Antwon rapping about how girls want to fuck him. The theme here is drugs and sex and Antwon handles both elegantly with Rick Ross-level weight and confidence. Listen to “Automatic” below.
