WUOG raised over 500 dollars during Seize the Airwaves!  The money will be donated to Camp Amped of Nuci’s Space, an afterschool and summer program through which young aspiring musicians can obtain mentorship and training from some of Athens greatest talents.  Thank you to everyone who participated and made this possible!

Alumni Weekend is finally here!  All weekend long, former DJ stars of WUOG will be returning back to rock our airwaves once again!

Alumni, please join us for a mixer downtown at Trappeze Pub Friday night 7-9 p.m. and a wholesome catered dinner at Mama’s Boy Saturday night at 7 p.m.!

Alumni Weekend comes but once a year, so make sure to turn the dial to 90.5 fm or listen online!

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a radio DJ?! We’ll here’s your chance to finally get behind the mic!  WUOG 90.5 fm will be holding it’s semi-annual fundraising event, SEIZE THE AIRWAVES, Friday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 26.  Everyone in the community is invited to come take over our airwaves and play whatever their heart desires, all in exchange for a $10 per hour donation, with this year’s proceeds going towards Camp Amped at Nuci’s Space. No experience is necessary to participate and a trained disk jockey will be there the whole way through to show you the ropes.  You can play music off of CDs, vinyl, an iPod or MP3 player, a laptop computer, or the internet, or go through the station’s own archive of music.  If interested in deejaying, please visit http://wuog.org/public-affairs/seize-the-airwaves/ and fill out the online form. Interested in getting involved with WUOG?! Well, come on out for our Open Meeting, this Tuesday, September 7th at 7 pm in room 480 of Tate II!  Meet all of our directors, learn about our staffs: Music, Local Music, Operations, Digital Media, Sports, News, Public Affairs, and Promotions, and find out how to become a DJ!  No experience is necessary to join- just an open mind and willingness to work!
