SONG OF THE DAY: James Blake – “Retrograde”
Finally. After two years of waiting, we finally have our first taste of James Blake’s sophomore LP Overgrown. He’s put out some EPs between his first album and now but its clear from this single that Blake clearly puts more emphasis on his vocal performance ahead of straight up dubstep instrumentals when crafting his albums. It’s great to hear his voice on a track again. He belts out some powerful moans and wails on this, complemented by his signature glitchy and moody production. Welcome back James Blake, we’ve missed you.
