Relay For Life benefits the American Cancer Society (ACS), a national nonprofit committed to fighting cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. It serves as a community-based volunteer health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem though prevention and early detection. ACS has with more than two million volunteers worldwide in more than 3,400 communities throughout the country.
One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. The ACS funds more than $100 million of cancer research a year. Since more than two-thirds of all cancer deaths are preventable, a major part of fighting the disease is through education. ACS strives to teach how to maintain healthy lifestyles and encourages people to get regular checkups to help detect the disease at early stages. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
We’re pooling our support! We’re asking the listeners of SmithtownRadio.com and WUOG 90.5 fm to join in the fight! To support the SmithtownRadio.com/WUOG 90.5 fm Relay for Life team click here. At the end of the night, we’ll be announcing how much our listeners raised in the fight against cancer!

The radio-thon was a professional and well-done broadcast: no doubt there will be future broadcasts. This issue touches everyone. Thanks Relay-For-Life. Thanks SmithtownRadio and WUOG.
