Faust in Athens – Aux 2k9

AUX will host a workshop with legendary German experimental music group Faust on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2 PM at Cine in downtown Athens. The workshop will be conducted in a master class format with limited space available to participants.

If you would like to participate in the master class with Faust, send a brief email proposal that details your interest and how you would contribute to the workshop. Please include your name, contact information, and indicate if you are a UGA student, faculty member, or member of the community. Proposals will be reviewed by committee and selected based on merit and availability.

School is so cool that we’re throwing a dance because of it!  Head on out to Go Bar around 9 pm to see performances by Casper and the Cookies, Deaf Judges, and DJ Immuzikation. Come catch up with your friends you haven’t seen all summer and meet some new faces from around town!  This night will also be Go Bar’s 10th Anniversary.. even more reason to party!

Video streaming – a first!

WUOG’s first video stream took place this evening, with the live performance of MTM w/ Trapper’s Cabin. Viewers were able to watch (choppy) video broadcasting live from the lobby.

WUOG is pleased as punch about the new website, and we hope you are too! Here are some of the features of the audio player used throughout wuog.org.

WUOG's Audio Player

You can adjust the volume on the far left.
The green bar represents the download progress.
The shaded gray directly above the green bar shows which part of the audio you are listening to. You can fast forward or rewind the audio by clicking inside the track information area.
Pressing the pause button will pause the audio – audio will resume at the paused location as long as you do not navigate or refresh the page.

The time has finally come!  WUOG will be holding an informational meeting for anyone interested in becoming involved with our radio station this Monday, September 14th, at 7 pm in the Tate Reception Hall.

Jazz in the Lobby

The first ever Jazz in the Lobby will be held tomorrow (September 13th) from 7-9pm! We'll be having local gypsy jazz pirate avant-garde skunk-funk outfit The Big Fundamentals in our lobby playing two groovin sets! These guys are super talented so come by anytime during the show to get your socks knocked off. Make sure to mark your calendars for next week, September 20th, as well, when the Carlton Owens Trio, featuring Rand Lines on piano, Carlton Owens on percussion, and Dennis Baraw on bass, will be featured on the second installment of Jazz in the Lobby.

Labor Day Break Radio

Break radio for Labor Day weekend will begin tonight at midnight and regular programming will start back up Monday night at midnight.

This means DeeJays aren’t required to show up if their shift falls on one of these days. Everyone is free to deejay if they’d like to.
