The Community DJ Shift is a weekly 2-hour shift where members of the community are allowed to play any music they want.
WUOG’s Community DJ Shift is held every Saturday night from 10 pm until 12 am. This shift is open to any person of the Athens or UGA community interested in trying their hand at deejaying. If selected, you will be able to play ANYTHING you want from vinyl records, CDs, an iPod, or a laptop as long as there are no curse words or lewd sexual references. A current WUOG DJ will sit in on the shift to take care of any technical difficulties and make sure everything goes smoothly.
There are only a handful of spots available throughout the semester, but the community DJ for each week will be chosen at random in a lottery-type system. In other words, this is not first-come, first-serve; everyone who applies at any time during the semester will have an equal opportunity of being selected for a shift. If chosen, you will be notified at least one week in advance. If you do not reply confirming your attendance, the shift will be given to someone else.
If you are interested in being a WUOG DJ for a night, fill out the application. You’ll be asked your name, phone number and why you’d like to be a DJ.
