The theme is the Factory. So I expect to see lots of Edie’s and Nico’s and John Cale’s and the like.
Moving into the new station at memorial has been a lot of work. We’re getting closer to operating at full capacity, however, there are always setbacks. This past week we have been experiencing technical difficulties with our transmitter.
While the transmitter is turned on the amount of power being sent to it will slowly rise, causing distortion and a compressed signal. We’ve decided to stay off air until an engineer can assess the situation.
We will update you on the situation as it progresses.
WUOG Live is up and running once again. If you experience any technical issues please contact webmaster [at] wuog.org.
The new deejay board still isn’t connected to our streaming computer, however, we expect to have WUOG Live up and running tomorrow.
Over spring break we installed a new DJ board. Hopefully 90.5 will sound a little bit crisper now. You can see photos of the new board tagged as wuog on flickr.
We’ll be back on air starting Midnight tonight. As always, 90.5fm is WUOG, Athens.
We’re all glad the transmitter turned itself back on, but sadly we’re going to be off air again over Spring Break.
Break radio usually means deejays are allowed to come play what they want whenever they hear static on 90.5fm. However, we will be utilizing this break to install a new deejay board. This is one of the last steps in our move to the new station. Our archives are fully installed and operational and we’re getting closer to breaking in our new home.
WUOG 90.5fm is back on air. All deejay shifts will continue as normal. Sorry for the blackout, we missed 26,000 watts of college radio debauchery as much as you did.
It’s the first of March, you know what that means: it’s snowing in Georgia! Athens-Clarke county is currently experiencing ‘heavy’ snow storms. Two inches of snow have accumulated on the ground and have made road conditions slushy and icy.
There have been reports of brief power outages and the 90.5fm transmitter has shut off. We are currently investigating the situation. Deejays and Community deejays are encouraged to stay home and go sledding. Do not come to your DeeJay shifts.
We apologize to everyone signed up for Seize the Airwaves, but the matter is clearly out of our hands. Baring continued Internet access, this post will be updated as news develops.

Mar 2 11:30a: Digital Media meeting has been canceled for today.
Mar 2 6:53p: There are issues with transmitter power. This could either be caused by our short range transmitter on top of Tate Student Center or the long-range transmitter on top of Brumby Hall.
Mar 2 7:34p: 90.5fm will likely be off air all of Tuesday, as weather makes maintenance operations dangerous. We’ll keep you updated.
