You could be the first to see our brand new station at the Tate Student Center! WUOG will be hosting a FREE community DJ shift offered on Saturdays from 10 pm until 12 am. This shift will be open to any person of the Athens or UGA student community interested in trying their hand at dj-ing. There are only a handful of spots available throughout the semester, but the community DJ for each week will be chosen at random in a lottery-type system. In other words, this is not first-come, first-serve; everyone who applies at any time during the semester will have an equal opportunity of being selected for a shift. If chosen, you will be notified at least one week in advance. If you do not reply confirming your attendance, the shift will be given to someone else. You can play ANYTHING you want to off of vinyl records, CDs, an iPod, or a laptop as long as there are no curse words or lewd sexual references. A current WUOG DJ will sit in on the shift to make sure everything goes smoothy and to take care of any technical difficulties. If you are interested in being a WUOG DJ for a night, contact Jessica Smith at programming@wuog.org. Put “Community DJ Shift” in the subject headline and include your first and last name, phone number, email address, and why you would like to DJ. Include in the email if there are any dates for which you would not be eligable.
The dates for the community DJ shifts are Jan 17th, Jan 24th, Jan 31st, Feb 7th, Feb 14th, Feb 21st, March 21st, March 28th, April 4th, April 11th, April 18th, and April 25th.
